On your arrival at Tropical Bamboo Hideaway, there is a beautiful Banana leaf book with everything you need to know, secret out of the way places to visit and suggestions for restaurants and activities, but here are some highlights:

Within Walking distance from Tropical Bamboo Hideway
Since the beach is across the road, you can just go over and swim, snorkel, surf, paraglide, collect shells, laze about on the beach under a palm tree, play sandcastles with the kids, fish, go for early morning walks and watch the sun rise, go for evening walks and watch the sun set………

A Mediterranean Restaurant Coffee House Yoga Daily , right across the road from the Hideaway, less than a minute away! Wonderful to be able to walk and have dinner, snack or a yoga class and a
relaxing beach massage.

Hike the Na Pali
Just hop in the car and in 5 minutes you will be at Ke’e Beach.   Then you can hike into Hanakapaia (the first beach) and back to the waterfall.  Wonderful experience. Or take the cooler and some wine and cheese and sit on Ke’e and watch the sun set over the Na Pali (romantic, romantic)

Hanalei
Drive the other way 5 minutes and hang out in Hanalei.   Shop the quaint little boutiques for some special gifts and have dinner at “Bar Acuda” the latest great restaurant there.

Na Pali Coast by Boat
A must see for everyone visiting to Kauai. One of the best ways to see the Na Pali is to take a boat trip, but not just any boat trip. Take Captain Sundown…..you will be on a new 40 foot sailing catamaran that takes only 15 people per trip. You will depart from Hanalei, only 5 minutes away.

You will be in the hands of the most experienced Captain on the island – that’s Captain Sundown – he’s been sailing the Na Pali for 35 years and he knows that coast well! There’s nothing like gliding silently past those majestic cliffs in silence, able to take in the breathtaking sights of the waterfalls cascading down 3000 feet into the azure blue water below.

Helicopter Rides
A one hour helicopter tour takes in the Na Pali, the sacred Mount Waialeale, the wettest spot on Earth, the Waimea Canyon “the Grand Canyon of the Pacific” and all of Kauai’s magical landscape.

Kayaking
Take a kayak up river, then a hike through the jungle while your guide tells you about the fascinating Hawaiian plants and their uses, both ancient and modern. Arrive at a private waterfall where you can swim, then have lunch, then return. You might even take that same river where Harrison Ford grabbed hold of a vine and jumped into the river in the original “Raiders of the Lost Ark”. It’s still there.

Horseback Riding to a Waterfall
Ride on horseback across wonderful Kauai backcountry with inspiring views all around. Then hike through the jungle and cool off at the private waterfall. A light lunch and the return journey. I love this one!

Luau
Hawaiian for Dinner and a Show. Experience an original Hawaiian Luau complete with the Pig and Hawaiian dancing.

Ziplining
The latest “thing” to hit the North Shore – take the zipline……you “zip” through the jungle from tree to tree, learn about the plants and pretend to be a real adventurer. Great fun!

Surfing
If you’ve never tried….the best teacher on island is available to teach you. Scuba Diving
For experienced divers and for those who would like to learn, Fathom 5 Kauai offers all types of dives including night and boat dives and also offers the PADI Certification.

Wind Surfing
….at Anini Beach

Para Gliding
For the more adventurous among you!

….and of course there’s golf, tennis, shelling, atv rides, hiking trips and just relaxing at the beach! A full list of activities is on hand at the Hideaway.
