The Beautiful Beaches
The Tropical Bamboo Hideaway is close to the best and most beautiful beaches on the Island. The closest beach is across the street and just a short distance North of the Hideaway you will find, Ha’ena State Park, Tunnels and Ke’e beaches, which are some of the most gorgeous and sought after beaches on Kauai. If you head South, you will find many other spectacular beach adventures as there are over 60 beaches on the Island, most of which are listed in our detailed Kauai Beach Guide.
Hike, Boat or Watch the Sunset Over the Na Pali Coast
Just jump in the car and in 5 minutes you will be at Ke’e Beach. From there, you can hike trails into Hanakapaia (the first beach on the Coast trail) and back to the waterfall; or take some wine and cheese to Ke’e Beach and watch the sunset over the Na Pali. If you are up for a boating adventure, catch Captain Sundown in Hanalei for a beautiful ride on a 40 foot catamaran. You will be in the hands of the most experienced Captain on the island – he’s been sailing the Na Pali for over 35 years and knows it well. There’s nothing like gliding silently past those majestic cliffs with waterfalls cascading down 3,000 feet into the ocean.
Mediterranean Gourmet Restaurant, Hanalei Day Spa & Na Pali Coffee House
All of these services are conveniently located across the street from the Hideaway. It is wonderful to have the option to walk to dinner, enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee or have a relaxing beach massage just steps from your accommodations. If you are up for a short drive you will find many highly-rated restaurants and services in Hanalei Town and Princeville.
Historic Hanalei Town
Drive south 10 minutes and enjoy Hanalei, an authentic Hawaiian village. Shop the quaint boutiques for special gifts, kayak or paddle board down the Hanalei river, pull up a picnic table for lunch or have dinner at one of the great restaurants in town including, Bar Acuda, Postcards or the Hanalei Dolphin.
Helicopter Rides
A one hour helicopter tour takes in the beauty of the Na Pali Coast, sacred Mount Waialeale – the wettest spot on Earth, Waimea Canyon – “the Grand Canyon of the Pacific” and all of Kauai’s magical landscape in between.
Kayaking
Take a kayak up river, then a hike through the jungle while your guide tells you about the fascinating Hawaiian plants and their uses. Arrive at a private waterfall where you can swim and have lunch. You might even take the same river where Harrison Ford grabbed hold of a vine and jumped in for the original “Raiders of the Lost Ark” – it’s still there.
Horseback Riding to a Waterfall
Ride on horseback across wonderful Kauai back country with inspiring views. Then hike through the jungle and cool off at a private waterfall and have a light lunch.
Authentic Hawaiian Luau
Luau is Hawaiian for dinner and a show. The Mediterranean Gourmet restaurant across the street has one every Tuesday evening and The St. Regis puts on a dinner show each Thursday.
Ziplining
Take a zipline and you will “zip” through the jungle from tree to tree and maybe even dip into a river along the way. Great fun!

Whether it is your first time or you are an experienced surfer, select from some of the best pros in the world to teach you the right moves.
Scuba Diving
For experienced divers and for those who would like to learn, Fathom 5 Kauai offers all types of dives including night and boat dives as well as the PADI Certification.
Wind and Kite Surfing
On Kauai, these activities are not for the inexperienced as ocean conditions can be formidable, but if you care to try, talk to one of the surf shops and they can point you in the right direction.
Paragliding
For the more adventurous among you!
Golf & Tennis
Just a short drive to Princeville and you will find three world-renowned golf courses, a golf club and tennis courts.
ATV Rides
